Ballast water

GoConsult is active in ballast water related work since 1992. Dr. Gollasch was involved in the first European ship sampling programme on ballast water, tank sediments and ship hull fouling carried out 1992-1996.
 
His PhD is world-wide the first thesis based on ballast water sampling.
 
In a follow up project a network of European experts working with biological invasions was created. This initiative eventually resulted in the development of ERNAIS, the European Research Network on Aquatic Invasive Species. This expert database was launched together with Vadim Panov, Russian Academy of Sciences, Zoological Institute, St. Petersburg
